Automobiles play a major role in our lives and without them the luxuries of modern world cannot be imagined.

The most common source of power for an automobile is the petrol/gasoline, which is combusted to produce energy to move the vehicle. However, there are other sources of power for an automobile such as electricity, hydrogen, or natural gas.

The first automobile was built by Karl Benz in 1885 and named the Benz Motorwagen. It was the first car to be produced on a mass-production assembly line. It was followed by the Ford Model T, which was introduced in 1908. The assembly-line manufacturing process made cars more affordable and available to many people.

Automobiles are generally safer than other forms of transportation, but they do pose some safety risks. They can crash and injure people, especially if they are driven recklessly. They can also pollute the environment if too many of them are used in a small area, and they may cause traffic congestion. Because of these dangers, people should use public transportation when possible.
